About the Artist
Rooted in nature, my work draws inspiration from California’s forests and coastlines. I collect organic materials—slate, stones, driftwood, pottery shards—and assemble them into abstract mosaics each telling a silent, earthy story.
In my paintings, I separate color and texture from external references, allowing emotion and intuition to guide the process. Working with oil, acrylic, and textured surfaces, I embrace the unknown, trust the process and allow each work to evolve into the concept I imagine —rooted in nature, shaped by feeling, and expressed through experimentation.

About the Artist
I grew up in New England, where I began drawing and painting at a young age. I won an
art contest in third grade, and was awarded a summer scholarship to an art school in
Boston. After sketching at the Museum of Fine Art and the Gardner Museum, and studying
the masters and contemporary artists, I knew I wanted to practice my art full-time.
Needing a “real job” after graduating high school, I went to work for a German based
computer company where I discovered that I had a knack for explaining complex technical
information to employees and customers. I became a Technical Instructor & Course
Developer, and later a Computer Systems Product Manager. I attended Northeastern
University’s Computer Science program at night, earning an Associates Degree in Systems
Analysis and Design.
I was recruited by Honeywell’s Computer Products Division in MA to manage a computer
product line. After a business trip that took me from San Diego to San Francisco, I fell in
love with the state and decided to stay. I went to work for a Silicon Valley computer
networking start-up, 3Com Corporation, where I became Director of Education & Tech
Support for a new technology: the internet. I travelled extensively with 3Com in the U.S.
and Europe, and became passionate about capturing the cities and landscapes I saw on
business trips and excursions in my paintings.
After several years as a Director at 3Com, my love for art and the need to create it caused
me to leave the financial security of the corporate world and enroll as a full time student at
the College of Art in Oakland. I earned a degree in Illustration & Painting, and went on to
earn both Art & K-5 Teaching Credentials at St Mary’s in Moraga. I taught art for the San
Ramon Valley School District and owned and operated Art on the Lane Gallery in Danville
for 15 years, where I sold my work and taught painting classes. Frequent off road trips
around California, especially in the Sierras, sparked a passion for landscape painting.
Many of my paintings begin with preparatory plein air paintings, done in locations “off the
beaten path”; often reached while off-roading, hiking, kayaking or even horseback riding.
I live in Loomis CA and in Truckee, and exhibit my work at Gold Country Artists in
Placerville, Art Obsessions in Reno, JoR Fine Art Gallery Clayton and Gallery 5830 in
Truckee CA, among others.
