Why having art in communities matters:
Exposure to visual art and participation in creative activities creates positive brain changes.
Better brain function: Studies show that groups exposed to viewing or creating art experience more connectivity between parts of the brain.
Lower rates of depression: In a study, patients with depression or chronic pain who were offered an 8-week art course were 37% less likely to need ongoing medication.
Higher graduation rates: Youth in underserved communities are five times more likely to graduate high school when they have access to art classes.
Better test scores: High schoolers who take just four years of art classes score 150 points higher on the SAT.
Ways to Support
Donate online: Your donation helps us offer scholarships for Kids Art Camps, deliver free Family Art Saturday programs, participate in local events like Snow Fest and Oktoberfest, host free community exhibits, and support many other creative initiatives. Every dollar is precious, and we’re deeply grateful for your support. You have the option to include processing fees in your total donation.
